Accomplished scientist and partnership executive Dr Robyn Lindner has been appointed as General Manager, AusBioNSW, bringing with her more than 25 years of experience in life sciences.

Dr Robyn Lindner (BSc (Hons), PhD, GDM, GAICD) has commenced her role as General Manager of AusBioNSW, the peak industry membership body for NSW state launched by AusBiotech last year.

Dr Lindner is an experienced strategic partnerships and executive leader with a track record in establishing and driving effective business partnerships and stakeholder relationships.

As General Manager, she will promote and facilitate AusBioNSW activities, including state membership growth and engagement, policy and advocacy, and strategic projects in NSW.

AusBioNSW was established in March 2022 to foster local connection and promote NSW organisations doing business in and with the local, national and global life sciences economy. AusBioNSW is backed by AusBiotech’s national representation on advocacy activities, membership services, events and networks – and for AusBiotech members in NSW, no additional membership subscription is required.

Trained as a scientist, Dr Lindner joins AusBiotech, with over 25 years experience across academia, medical research, biotechnology and the public health sector. Most recently, she has worked in the health sector, establishing collaborations to deliver national health programs and new business opportunities.

Past appointments have included Chief Scientific Officer at Tyrian Diagnostics, VP Discovery at Proteome Systems, research roles at the University of Wollongong and the Heart Research Institute, and programme leader roles focused on driving research, development and commercialisation of biomarkers and diagnostics.

In each of these roles, Dr Lindner has been responsible for driving national and international strategic partnerships across government, universities, industry and community.

AusBioNSW General Manager Dr Lindner said, “It’s an exciting time for the life sciences industry and I look forward to working with the NSW sector to support a vibrant, connected and sustainable industry that makes a positive contribution to people’s lives.”

Dr Lindner’s remit is broad, with her responsibilities including building business development and commercialisation capabilities in NSW, driving initiatives to attract investment and grow innovation and trade in NSW, and developing programs that strengthen NSW-based companies' abilities to commercialise and grow investment, to create jobs and growth for the State.

AusBioNSW Leadership Committee Chair and AusBiotech Board Observer Graham McLean said, “We’re thrilled to see the appointment of Dr Robyn Lindner as General Manager for AusBioNSW. Her leadership will provide a dedicated local voice for NSW’s thriving life sciences sector, supporting and working on behalf of industry to fully capitalise on opportunities for NSW members.”

Dr Lindner has a first-class honours degree in science and a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Sydney, a postgraduate diploma in business management from the Australian Graduate School of Management, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
