Recce Pharmaceuticals director Alistair McKeough will retire at the company's annual general meeting.
The resolution to re-elect him has been withdrawn, and any proxy votes lodged on it will be disregarded. Dr Alan Dunton will replace Mr McKeough as chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Executive Chairman Dr John Prendergast said Mr McKeough had served the company for over eight years. "He has made a lasting impact on the Company, both as a Director and as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee."
Mr McKeough said, "It has been a challenging but rewarding role with the Company."
"Antimicrobial resistance is one of the great health challenges of our time, and I believe Recce has an important role to play in addressing it."
Recce is developing synthetic polymer medicines against antibiotic-resistant infections. Its lead candidate, R327, has Qualified Infectious Disease Product designation from the US Food and Drug Administration, which brings Fast Track status and 10 years of market exclusivity after approval.
