Victoria launches clinical trials gateway

AusBiotech

The Victorian Clinical Trials Gateway (VCT Gateway) – a new web-based portal - has been launched to globally connect the clinical trials ecosystem with and in Victoria.

Expressions of Interest are sought from Victorian sites and services that are interested in being included in the VCT Gateway, after the Victorian Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources provided support to develop the resource.

The VCT Gateway will promote clinical trials in Victoria and position Victoria as the portal of entry into conducting clinical trials in Victorian and Australia – providing a cohesive, holistic, single-stop solution for companies from start-ups, to major pharmaceutical companies, clinical research organisations who want to conduct high-quality clinical trials, quickly and cost-effectively.

In broad terms, the Gateway will be divided into three sections:

  • A description of why Australia, and Victoria especially, is a great destination for clinical trials;
  • A map or pathway of things to consider as you work through setting up a clinical trial in Victoria; and
  • Links to services and sites who can partner with companies.

The VCT Gateway aims to be inclusive with each partner listing to have 150 - 200 words to describe their service/site, key contact, an email address and website.

There will be no cost for initial listing on the VCT Gateway and ongoing support of the VCT Gateway is estimated to be trivial.

Organisations interested in being part of the VCT Gateway, can contact: Dr Megan Robertson (Megan.Robertson@svha.org.au) or Tan Nguyen (Tam.Nguyen@svha.org.au) for the pro-forma required for listing.

The Gateway holding page can be viewed online and interested parties can register for further news on the portal.
