In a move set to bolster investor engagement across Australia's life sciences sector, AusBiotech has announced the appointment of Kerri Lee Sinclair as its new Head of Investment. This strategic hire marks a significant step forward for the organisation in its mission to support and grow the country's burgeoning life sciences industry.

Sinclair, who brings over 25 years of experience in innovation and investment, will lead AusBiotech's investment strategy. Her role will focus on fostering connections between the investment community and Australian life sciences companies to facilitate increased capital flows essential for business growth and scaling.

As part of her responsibilities, Sinclair will oversee AusBiotech's flagship investment events, including AusBiotech Invest and AusMedtech Invest. She will also work closely with industry stakeholders, Australian investors, and global partners to enhance Australia's reputation as a prime destination for life sciences investment.

Sinclair's impressive background includes co-founding a startup that was acquired by Microsoft in 2007, holding senior positions in leading Australian innovation companies, and managing technical and venture capital investments for family offices and high-net-worth individuals over the past decade. Her experience also extends to serving on the boards of several high-growth businesses.

A passionate advocate for women entrepreneurs, Sinclair has chaired SBE Australia since 2018, an organisation that has supported over 400 women entrepreneurs nationwide, including more than 40 in the life sciences sector. Her expertise is widely sought after, as evidenced by her roles on various investment committees, including the Alice Anderson Sidecar Fund, CoAct Capital, and the Victorian State Government's Equity Investment Attraction Fund.

Commenting on her appointment, Sinclair said, "Capital follows confidence. I look forward to aligning industry needs with investor expectations and showcasing Australia's strengths in trials, quality systems, advanced manufacturing and life sciences innovation."

AusBiotech CEO Rebekah Cassidy welcomed Sinclair to the team, stating, "Kerri Lee brings a rare combination of entrepreneurial insight, corporate leadership, and investment expertise that will help take our investment programs to the next level. Her ability to build meaningful connections between innovators and the investment community will be invaluable as we work to unlock new growth opportunities for Australia's life sciences sector. We value her long-standing commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs, including many in our sector."

Sinclair's appointment comes at a crucial time for AusBiotech as the organisation intensifies its investment programs, strengthens international partnerships, and accelerates the commercialisation of Australia's world-class life science innovations. With access to capital being a critical component of this journey, Sinclair's expertise is expected to play a pivotal role in driving the sector forward.
