Nanosonics has appointed William Haydon as Regional President, North America, as the infection prevention company prepares to accelerate commercial expansion and launch its next-generation CORIS platform for endoscope reprocessing.
Mr Haydon will assume the role from 1 December 2025, succeeding Ken Shaw, who retires after more than eight years leading Nanosonics’ North American operations as President, Americas.
With more than 28 years of executive experience in the global medical device and healthcare technology sectors, Mr Haydon brings deep expertise in operational transformation and strategic growth. He previously served as President of the Medical Division at Cantel Medical Corp, where he led a major commercial transformation that positioned the company as a leader in endoscopy reprocessing prior to its acquisition by Steris plc in 2021.
His appointment comes as Nanosonics moves to broaden its presence in infection prevention, extending its established position in ultrasound probe reprocessing through trophon into the adjacent endoscopy market. The company described the forthcoming launch of CORIS as “an important next step” in its growth strategy.
Mr Haydon’s earlier career includes senior leadership roles at Avanos Medical, where he headed the Pain Management division, as well as executive positions at Bayer HealthCare, AGA Medical Corporation, ev3 Inc., and Vital Images. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota–Duluth and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management.
Nanosonics CEO and President Michael Kavanagh said Mr Haydon’s leadership and technical background made him ideally suited to guide the company through its next phase of expansion. “His extensive experience in infection prevention and endoscope reprocessing aligns perfectly with our strategic priorities,” Dr Kavanagh said. “As we expand our footprint in the Americas and prepare for the commercialisation of CORIS, Bill’s expertise will be invaluable in driving our next phase of growth.”
Dr Kavanagh also paid tribute to Mr Shaw’s contribution, describing his leadership as pivotal in establishing trophon® as the standard of care for ultrasound probe reprocessing in the US.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Nanosonics at this exciting time,” Mr Haydon said. “I look forward to helping the business extend its leadership position in ultrasound probe reprocessing and prepare to transform the endoscopy reprocessing market with its innovative CORIS technology.”
