A former PBS adviser to health minister Greg Hunt and his predecessor, Sussan Ley, is joining industry after a stint with foreign minister Julie Bishop.
Alex Best is joining Johnson & Johnson where he will serve as senior government affairs and policy manager.
Mr Best worked in the Department of Health before his appointment as a ministerial adviser in late 2015.
He oversaw major negotiations with the pharmaceutical sector culminating in last year's Budget and sector-wide agreements that delivered pricing reforms and savings set aside for new listings.
