Reigning Super Bowl Champions the New England Patriots are the latest NFL team to use Melbourne-based medical device company dorsaVi's ViPerform technology.
The Patriots join the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns as the latest team to adopt the technology that consists of small wireless sensors placed on the body that provide immediate analysis of movement and muscle activity by recording and sending objective data to a PC, tablet or small recording device.
"Year after year, the New England Patriots consistently set the standard for excellence in professional football, and we're thrilled that the reigning Super Bowl champions have chosen ViPerform to help objectively assess and monitor their athletes," said dorsaVi US President, John Kowalczyk.
One of the country's biggest sporting universities has also signed up to use the ViPerform technology.
The Ohio State University Buckeyes, home to the reigning NCAA football champions, has become the first Division 1 NCAA athletic program to contract with dorsaVi.
Another college, Marquette University in Wisconsin, has also adopted the technology.

The company also announced that Sodexo, one of the world's largest services and labour hire companies, has entered a 12 month contract with dorsaVi, to undertake assessments of their employees working in remote areas of Australia using the ViSafe technology.
