An inspiring line-up of Australian and global keynotes and panels has been revealed as the AusMedtech 2021 conference programme is launched. 'AusMedtech 2021: Reimagine and reconnect' provides virtual half-day sessions across five days, 17 – 21 May, that represent Australia’s medtech industry.

Keynote speakers include Dr Sean Parsons, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ellume, who will share insights on the Australian success story. Kate Quirke, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Alicidion, will present on how the company built its business through accessing the global market.

Digital diagnostics company Ellume recently caught global attention following a $231.8 million agreement with the US Departments of Defense and Health and Human Services to accelerate domestic US production of its COVID-19 home tests. The breathtaking deal was a stand-alone achievement but for Ellume and its founder Sean Parsons it marked a spate of good news that has positioned the company as a global contender and Australian success story.

Alcidion is providing clinicians with real-time data via mobile devices to enhance decision making. Currently, in 307 hospitals across the UK, Australia and New Zealand, they have 68,000 users and have captured more than one billion observations at the 50,000 hospital beds.

The five-day AusMedtech 2021 programme will traverse the medtech pipeline, with themes across the week including product development, idea generation, feasibility prototyping and manufacturing, regulation, clinical trials and reimbursement, investment, investor relations, partnering and grants, marketing, distribution and partnering for market access. as well as AusMedtech’s inaugural Early Stage Investment Forum.
