Research Australia is inviting people to attend the 14th annual black tie Research Australia Health and Medical Research Awards.

The awards, which are sponsored by GSK and Griffith University, recognise contributions in everything from cutting edge research to advocacy and philanthropic work. They will be held at The Westin Sydney on 16 November.

Research Australia CEO, Nadia Levin, said she is thrilled to invite members of the community to come together and congratulate the hard work of these "inspiring individuals."

“This is a wonderful, annual opportunity to recognise the invaluable contributions made to health and medical research by advocates and researchers from across the country,” she said.

“Research Australia would particularly like to thank all those who nominated these outstanding achievers for an Award in a year of record nominations.”

This year the awards will include the inaugural 'Data Innovation in Health and Medical Research', which recognises this digital health and technologies that are heavily influencing the approach to health and wellness.

“Making those final nominee decisions was extremely difficult for our Board, with so many strong applications from our thriving health and medical research community,” said Levin.

“Every single one of our nominees has committed their time, energy, efforts and passion to improving people’s lives through research, and we are eager to come together to celebrate them.

“It is a privilege to gather together all these great minds – be they clinicians, researchers, advocates or philanthropists – and to take time out with them to appreciate their successes."

Tickets for the awards dinners are available for purchase at the Research Australia website.
