AusBiotech is currently hosting its annual AusMedtech meeting that this year has the theme 'reimagine and reconnect'.

AusMedtech 2021 is bringing together key stakeholders of the Australian and international devices and diagnostics sector to help prepare the industry sector for its changing landscape.

The conference is providing a week of virtual half-day sessions that represent Australia’s medtech industry -  celebrates the successes and impacts it has made and engaged on the reimagined future of the sector.

The association says the goal is to 'reconnect' with a network of resilient and innovative leaders and 'reimagine' the future of medtech beyond Australia's borders.

Delegates watched the official open on Monday led by AusBiotech CEO Lorraine Chiroiu and Victoria's Parliamentary Secretary for Medical Research, Frank McGuire. The Victorian government is the conference host state partner.

Today's agenda includes a keynote address by TGA head Adjunct Professor John Skerritt, a discussion on navigating the path to reimbursement and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the conduct clinical trials.

Wednesday and Thursday will see discussions about investment in the sector, accessing the global market and driving company performance.
