Recruiting for seven statutory committees and specialist advisors, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is seeking expressions of interest from professionals with expertise in relevant scientific and medical fields to support the functions of the regulator.
Applications to become one of 78 ‘core’ members of the TGA’s statutory advisory committees or act as specialist expert advisor on specific topics are open now until 4 October 2016.
As a committee member or expert advisor you would contribute significantly towards the TGA’s regulatory functions by providing independent expert advice on specific technical matters relating to the regulation of medicines, devices, cell and tissue products and other substances.
Core committee members are appointed in an individual capacity to the TGA's statutory advisory committees by the Minister for Health. Appointments will be for either two or three year terms and members may be required to attend three to six meetings a year.
As a specialist advisor, your expertise may be sought on specific topics. Appointments to an expert panel are for three years and geared toward more flexible contribution.
Expressions of interest should include:
- A cover letter stating the relevance of your expertise;
- A nomination for one or multiple committees;
- A current curriculum vitae;
- A fully completed and signed ‘Declaration of interest in support of application for membership of a TGA expert advisory committee’;
- Contact details of two referees; and
- Your contact details.
