PolyNovo (ASX:PNV) has announced the signing of AMI Medical Technologies (AMI) as its distributor for the company’s NovoSorb Biodegradable Temporising Matrix in Israel.

AMI Medical Technologies is a sophisticated medical distributor with the NovoSorb BTM being a good fit within their product portfolio, said PolyNovo in a statement.

BTM is a wound dressing for the treatment of full-thickness wounds and burns where the dermal structure has been lost to trauma, or damaged requiring surgical removal, and requires a split-thickness skin graft for final closure.

"PolyNovo and AMI engaged with leading Israeli surgeons to assess the market potential and the suitability of a distributor to service our customers," it said.

"We feel the Israel market holds significant promise as it is an innovative biomedical market that demonstrates early adoption of leading technologies. The continued expansion of our markets will establish PolyNovo as a global supplier with the ability to improve the outcomes for patients needing dermal repair."

According to CEO, Paul Brennan, “PolyNovo’s entry into a sophisticated medical market such as Israel is an exciting opportunity to work with leading surgeons who are seen as key opinion leaders on the global stage. We see AMI as a very good fit with PolyNovo due to their experience and the attention given to customers”.
