Numedico, the South Australian based manufacturer of safety medical devices and the manufacturer distributor of ClickZip Needle Retractable Safety Syringe technology, has made its first appointment of a distributor for the produce in Asia.
The company announced Jakarta based, PT Integrasi Teknologi Indonesia (PT ITINDO), will distribute throughout the Indonesian private healthcare services sector. This sector accounts for approximately 25 per cent of the Indonesian healthcare sector.
PT ITINDO will commence distribution with effect from this month.
“ClickZip proves to be the most superior product in the medical syringe market," said PT ITINDO. "Currently, the majority of Indonesian healthcare providers use a combination of conventional syringes and auto-disabled syringes. Both types have very low success rate in preventing needlestick injuries. The only advantage of the auto-disabled syringe is the prevention of re-use which is a feature also of ClickZip.”
ClickZip has been designed to be used like a traditional syringe but with the added benefit of a locking mechanism that ‘clicks’ into place when the needle is fully depressed. When the needle is retracted it is drawn back into the barrel. Once fully retracted the needle tilts to the side. The barrel plunger is then snapped off encapsulating the needle safely in the barrel thereby preventing reuse or needlestick injury.
