AusBiotech is seeking an Industry Development Manager to continue growing the New South Wales' (NSW) biotech sector.

Expressions of interest are now open for this new part-time role for the organisation, which is an indication of its continued support of life sciences across Australia.

This role has been developed to ensure the NSW life sciences industry is structurally supported to capitalise on new technologies and growth opportunities.

This role offers variety and will be working closely with the Director, Membership and Engagement and the Director, Policy and Programmes. The candidate will have the ability to take the initiative and work both collaboratively and independently in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced and goal-oriented environment.

The NSW sector is considerable, with AusBiotech commissioned research - Sector Snapshot 2017 - revealing it to be the second-largest life sciences hub in Australia, employing around 26,000 people. Around 33 per cent of the research organisations and around 37 per cent of industry organisations are based in NSW.

According to AusBiotech CEO, Lorraine Chiroiu, "We are thrilled to be able to provide greater support to NSW' biotech sector through this new position. Having AusBiotech present to facilitate connections across the pipeline, and engage across national programmes and projects will enable greater prosperity.

"We encourage our industry partners to spread the word so we can find the right person to help us foster a growing, strong and profitable life science industry."
