The GSK Award for Research Excellence, recognised as one of the most prestigious available to the Australian medical research community, has been awarded since 1980.
Last year's recipients were Professors Georgina Long and Richard Scolyer – co-medical directors of Melanoma Institute Australia – for their research that has helped triple the life expectancy for some advanced melanoma patients and transformed how the cancer is diagnosed and managed worldwide.
The Award will be presented at the Research Australia Health & Medical Research event on 14 November 2019 in
Melbourne.
