Nominations are open for the 2020 Peter Wills Medal in recognition of an individual who has made an outstanding, long-term contribution to building Australia’s international reputation in health and medical research and fostering collaboration for better health.
Research Australia’s flagship award, the Peter Wills Medal was created in honour of Research Australia’s Deputy Chairman, Peter Wills AC, a great leader whose work led to the inception of Research Australia.
Nominations are not limited to researchers and submissions are welcomed for individuals who have made an outstanding contribution in the area of health and medical research, for harnessing government, research, industry and philanthropic collaborations - all to promote a healthier community.
Professor Kathryn North AC FAHMS, Director, Murdoch Children's Research Institute, won the 2019 Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership in genomic medicine which has helped drive Australia’s international reputation in this field.
The 2020 winner will be announced at the annual Health and Medical Research Awards Gala Dinner on December 17 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney.
