The Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals Growth Centre (MTPConnect ) is part of the $248 million Federal Government Industry Growth Centres Initiative.

Industry led Growth Centres will work to unlock commercial opportunities and drive innovation by building links between businesses and industry organisations and the science and research sector.

The recently created MTPConnect is looking for three senior leaders to support implementation of its innovation strategy.

MTPConnect will work with multiple stakeholders to drive innovative capacity, productivity and competitiveness across the sector.

Experienced industry executive Sue MacLeman was appointed CEO of MTPConnect in April 2016. She has worked in a range of senior roles across corporate, medical, commercial and business development, with Schering-Plough (now MSD), Amgen, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Mesoblast Ltd. Ms MacLeman has also served as CEO and Board member of several ASX and NASDAQ listed companies in the sector and is currently a non-executive director at Reproductive Health Sciences and Oventus Medical.

The organisation is now looking for three General Managers reporting to Ms MacLeman.

The General Manager of Stakeholder Engagement will help drive the engagement strategy and implementation plan for stakeholders in the sector including companies, industry associations (AusBiotech, MTAA, Medicines Australia, GBMA, amongst others), research organisations and universities, but excluding state and federal government. They will also be responsible for driving the corporate communications programme.

The General Manager of Education, Skills and Events will coordinate, collaborate, agitate, facilitate and accelerate programs and initiatives that benefit the sector. They will also be responsible for events management.

General Manager of Government and International Engagement will help drive the engagement strategy and implementation plan with both state and federal government. They will also help drive corporate development and be responsible for alliance management with international sector participants.

More information on these three leadership roles is available at the Brooker Consulting website.
