Grant Opportunity opens up for Agricultural Cooperation with China

The Australia-China Agricultural Cooperation Agreement (ACACA) 2018 grant opportunity is now open for applications to develop Australia's agricultural trading relationship with China.

The ACACA is a treaty level agreement between the Australian and Chinese governments designed to develop Australia’s agriculture and agricultural trading relationship with China, as an ongoing, competitive grant program, with calls for applications every year.

The grant opportunity from the Federal Department of Agriculture and Water Resources is open for applications for a limited time for 2018, closing on 13 March, and grant are available under to streams.   

Up to $40,000.00 GST inclusive is available to undertake an eligible project in Australia and/or China (Stream 1).

Up to $15,000.00 GST inclusive is available to cover travel costs for a trade mission to China (Stream 2).

The agreed funding priorities for 2018 and 2019 are:

  • eCommerce innovation
  • science and technology cooperation
  • sustainable agricultural technology
  • post-harvest storage and waste
  • sanitary and phytosanitary training
  • agricultural products processing
  • animal husbandry
  • food safety
  • trade and investment cooperation
  • commodity production research
  • exploration of niche markets
  • advanced agriculture technologies
  • water in agriculture. 

Funds are limited, competitive and merit-based under this program, therefore meeting eligibility or merit criteria doesn’t guarantee funding.
