Governor of Victoria Export Awards now open

Australian life sciences companies are encouraged to apply for The Governor of Victoria Export Awards (GOVEA), which rewards Victoria’s most successful and innovative exporters with business recognition in local and international markets.

The Awards comprise 12 categories, including:

  • Agribusiness, focusing on agricultural products, services or technology (including processed foods and beverages), and forestry, fisheries or fibre industries;
  • Digital technologies, encompassing information and communication products, technology or services;
  • Health and biotechnology, including medical, healthcare and biotechnology fields for products, technology, equipment or services; and,
  • Manufacturing.

The Awards also include three Victoria only awards, which are Victorian Exporter of the Year; Victorian Export Award for Innovation Excellence; and, the Victorian Women in International Business Award.

Category winners will be finalists in the Australian Export Awards, which is a national awards ceremony where Victorian winners compete against winners from other states and territories.

Trade Victoria and the Export Council of Australia will be conducting free workshops to assist companies complete their applications. This includes showing applicants how to prepare an award-winning submission; assisting applicants in using the awards application to review and update their export plan; and, providing opportunities for applicants to network with fellow exporters. Workshops will be held throughout June and July in multiple locations around Victoria, including Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Dandenong. One session will be available as a webinar.
