The recently-released Australian IP Toolkit for Collaboration is aimed at driving “greater collaboration between researchers and business, which is critical to Australia’s future growth and competitiveness”.
Jointly developed by IP Australia and the Department of Industry and Science, the Toolkit has tools for use in collaboration and, including model contracts that can be used as a neutral starting point for research collaboration and information such as tips and case studies, in a user-friendly format.
Launched by the Parliamentary Secretary for Industry and Science, Karen Andrews MP, who said: “Linking research with industry will allow for better translation of ideas into real goods and services, technologies and life improvements.”
The Toolkit was developed as part of the Boosting Commercial Returns from Research strategy, which is designed to increase the effectiveness of collaboration.
The IP Toolkit will be continually evaluated and updated in line with user feedback, to ensure it remains current.
