AusBiotech has announced Health Minister Mark Butler will join industry members, international delegates, and investors during Australia’s most significant week in biotechnology.
AusBiotech’s four-day national conference is one of the pre-eminent biotechnology industry events in the Asia-Pacific region and the largest annual biotechnology gathering in Australia. More than 1,500 participants, including more than 200 international delegates from 25 countries, are expected at this year's conference and associated events.
AusBiotech CEO Rebekah Cassidy said the organisation was honoured to have Minister Butler join this year's conference, noting that there has never been a more important time for health innovation to be at the forefront of national discussions.
“Globally, the combined pressures of pandemics, stressed supply chains, chronic disease, aging populations, climate change, health inequities, and geopolitical tensions – along with the rapid pace of innovation – has elevated health innovation topics.
“Now is the time for deep conversations regarding our sector’s role in our nation’s future and as part of Australia’s modernised economy.”
Ms Cassidy said this year’s conference would lean into meaningful future-focused conversations while also playing the traditional role of connection and knowledge sharing.
“The AusBiotech Conference is a super-connector event. Our organisation was built by our members to be the voice of the industry and to support growth in the sector. Bringing the Australian life sciences ecosystem together at AusBiotech is a remarkable opportunity.”
The premier event is an industry-led program with more than 200 speakers across 60 sessions developed inform, connect, educate, and celebrate the sector's success and challenges.
“This year, we are looking at record-breaking numbers of speakers and attendees. This tells us that the sector's growth is getting the attention of a bigger audience year on year. Our premier programme also carves out time for industry professionals from Australia and around the world to connect and develop meaningful connections to advance biotech,“ said Ms Cassidy.
