National clinical trials governance framework pilot open

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care has announced the opening of the pilot of the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework that will be conducted through March 2021.

The commission said all health service organisations and interested stakeholders can now register to access the web-based self-assessment tool and operational metrics tool.

"These tools will assist health services assess their readiness to meet the requirements of the Governance Framework and monitor their clinical trial service operations," said the commission.

The clinical trials portal can be viewed here. It is intended that all the resources, including the web-based self-assessment tool and web-based operational metrics tool, will be available for use beyond the duration of the pilot.

The commission said stakeholders can provide feedback on the framework and supporting tools and resources via the pilot survey.
