AusBiotech seeking part-time CFO


AusBiotech is currently recruiting for a part-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Company Secretary (CS) to fill the position about to be vacated by long-standing and valued CFO, Richard Alderson, when he commences his retirement shortly.

The role will support AusBiotech in its mission is to foster a growing, strong and profitable biotechnology and life science industry in Australia through representation, advocacy and the provision of services and benefits to its members to help the industry realise its nationally important economic potential.

In the role of CFO the successful candidate will manage all financial functions, ensuring timely and accurate records in the financial system, complete the company’s annual budget, and manage insurance and legal requirements. The role also line-manages the Finance Officer.

The role provides company secretarial services to the Board and CEO, primarily by supporting AusBiotech’s Board meetings, Risk & Audit Sub-Committee, annual general meetings and completing the legal and operation outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a professional, positive and collaborative work style. The suitable candidate will have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in senior financial management roles, be a qualified accountant and preferably have a company secretary qualification. Success in the role will be contingent upon sound financial skills, commercial and operational skills and proficiency in using MS Office suite and MYOB.
