Latest News

AusBiotech is fostering its international connections with biotech and medtech companies and demonstrating why Australia is a global leader within the sector, through its support of the Australian delegation and pavilion at BioKorea 2021.

The hybrid conference is running in person 9 – 11 June and online 9 – 21 June 2021. Partnering with Austrade, it will feature Team Australia, and showcase its investment opportunities and the Australian life sciences capabilities.

A dedicated session on Wednesday 9 June will focus on the cooperation strategy between Korean and Australian biotech industries. It will consider current trends and examples of successful open innovation cases in key pharmaceutical value chains of the two countries. A networking event will also provide a platform for the two countries to connect.

The organiser of BioKorea, The Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), has led large Korean delegations to AusBiotech for several years, demonstrating the strong interest Korean companies have in collaborating with Australia's biotech industry. AusBiotech is looking forward to welcoming another large Korean delegation to AusBiotech 2021, 25 – 29 October.

AusBiotech’s support of BioKorea 2021 is part of its global strategy, as it facilitates international opportunities for investment discussions, collaborations and partnerships, with a focus on the markets important to members, notably the US and growth markets in Asia.

Continuing to facilitate these ongoing investment opportunities is crucial for the growth of the Australian life sciences sector, and ultimately for continuing Australia’s position in the sector globally.
