Audit on Australia’s COVID-19 vaccines and treatment abilities

AusBiotech

In order to seek early access to and delivery of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines and treatments, the Australian Government Department of Health is auditing Australia’s vaccine and treatment manufacturing capability and capacity. Organisations already regulated or likely to seek regulation through the Therapeutic Goods Administration are requested to respond.

The audit will help inform decision making on how to maximise the Australian manufacturing industry’s role in the supply of COVID-19 vaccines and treatments and to identify opportunities that can feasibly be explored to support onshore manufacturing.

Information is being sought regarding COVID-19 vaccine and treatment manufacture and supply, in particular, manufacturers’ current capability and capacity, as well as willingness to expand, modify or repurpose their capability and capacity to provide support at population-scale.

The audit is being undertaken through a Request for Information (RFI), will complement existing information, and forms part of the Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Submissions close on Thursday, 20 August 2020 at 2:00 pm (ACT Local Time).

Questions about the process can be directed to the RFI Coordinator.
