Early stage researchers are invited to apply for Takeda Pharmaceutical’s $100,000 grant programme.
The fund invites new research ideas that align with 30 interest areas across five themes, including neuroscience, immunology and rare disease, regenerative medicine, platform technologies, and drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic and safety research.
To accelerate open innovation activities, Takeda is leading its open grant competition programme COCKPI-T® (Co-Create Knowledge for Pharma Innovation Takeda) and invites innovative research proposals to apply. Takeda will support companies and researchers financially to confirm their research concepts with funding of A$100,000 per project, including indirect costs, available.
To apply, researchers must be working in companies, research institutes or universities that are based in Australia, Europe or the United Kingdom.
Early research that needs a further concept-validation study is encouraged to apply. While the existence of a certain level of validation data against the concept is preferable, it is not mandatory.
AusBiotech is committed to encouraging emerging technologies and to facilitating access to capital to building the life sciences pipeline. As part of this work, an Early Stage Investment Forum will be held again at the annual AusBiotech conference in October, giving biotech and medtech start-ups and spin-outs the opportunity to pitch to an experienced panel of investors.
Submissions for COCKPI-T® close 6 August 2020, with final selections occurring in November 2020. Read more about the process and how to apply here or contact COCKPI-T@takeda.com.
